WWJD with Randall Park

WWJD with Randall Park

Comedian Randall Park submitted his entry to the Interpretations Film Initiative with his friends David Lee and Neil Sehgal. He’s no stranger to short films. His track record offers a slew of comedy shorts like Dumb Professor, Megabot, and the Food Show. For the competition, his submission has religious overtones with a tag line of “Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways. And sometimes he works at the convenience store.” The short is truly miraculous with modern day Jesus.

Leave feedback for the short here.

Far East Movement’s Like a G6 breaks mainstream pop charts

Far East Movement breaks mainstream pop charts

Far East Movement (also known as FM) members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman will drop their first album through Cherry Tree/Interscope Records on October 12, 2010 entitled ‘Free Wired’. The album’s lead single “Like A G6” has been exploding on the country’s sales and radio charts, currently #9 at iTunes and #16 on Billboard’s Hot 100 making FM the first Asian American group to land on the mainstream pop music charts. The song has consistently grown each week since its release and was the #2 most added song at Top 40 radio the week it went for adds in Top 40 markets. Collectively the song and its accompanying music video have received over 7 million YouTube views and 4.5 million MySpace streams. The music video was also the #1 rated music video on MySpace the week it debuted.

The guys from FM have a Fetish for rocking stylish shades, skinny ties, shiny blazers and fresh kicks. They’ve come a long way since they interned in the publicity department of Interscope Records, the label they are now signed to through the Cherry Tree Records imprint, home to artists Lady Gaga, Robyn, La Roux and LMFAO. The quartet have taken their lifestyle and the current Los Angeles club scene global with ‘Free Wired,’ a movement they coined, that represents everything they do from fashion to technology in addition to describing the music that blends elements of hip-hop, electro and dance. “‘Free Wired‘ is about ‘geekin out’ however you feel most comfortable. Whether it’s partying at the club, at home online, dressing a certain way, enjoying a certain activity, whatever. To live free and stay connected 25 hours a day, 8 days a week is where it stems,” states Kev Nish.

Girls on the Dance Floor

Far East Movement had their breakout year in 2009 when the hit ‘Girls On The Dance Floor‘ rose to #1 at Los Angeles radio. The explosive club banger led to television and film executives to take notice to the ‘Free Wired’ sound and started featuring their music on hit shows like Entourage, CSI, Gossip Girl and blockbuster movies like Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and Get Him To The Greek. The attention they started receiving led to tours with Lady Gaga (Monster’s Ball), N*E*R*D (Army Tour), Robyn/Kelis (All Hearts Tour) and LMFAO (Party Rock). They are currently on the road for the ‘Up In The Air’ tour with ‘Cooler That Me’ hit maker Mike Posner. The LA-based group are also doing PSAs for the LA Dodgers.

“We’ve played at every club in southern Cali and thrown parties getting ‘Free Wired’ at friends lofts and rooftops in downtown LA until the sun came up and want to continue that tradition around the world,” states Prohgress. On their website, the group interprets the movement and stay connected to fans through daily news postings, FM Satellite Webisodes, restaurant reviews and anything that relates to the ‘Free Wired’ way of life. They also host weekly radio shows and chat rooms on Cherry Tree Radio.

The upcoming ‘Free Wired’ album is a star-studded affair with appearances from Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Snoop Dogg, Keri Hilson, Lil Jon and production from the Stereotypes (Grammy nominated), Smeezingtons (Bruno Mars and Phil Lawrence), Roger Sanchez (Grammy winning) and Fernando Garibay. On his London promo trip earlier this month, singer/songwriter Bruno Mars about how he came to write hits for other artists before his own material was released, working with B.o.B (Nothing on You) and Travie McCoy (Billionaire), his admiration for Cee-Lo Green (F**k You) and his own versatility as a songwriter. It’s a great piece about his background and how he broke into the music industry. His hard work and perseverance has gotten him where he is now.

Recently, Mike Isberto released an original song “Find a Way,’ which he co-wrote with Melissa Polinar. The acoustic love song talks about falling someone. You’ll keep chasing and you’ll keep dream, but you’ll find a way.

Melissa Polinar is busy collaborating with other singers. She made two tracks with Jesse Barrera including I Don’t Care and Stay With Me.

Lyrics to Find a Way by Mike Isberto

something happens when you smiling
its kinda hard to explain
but suddenly my heart is racing
the air is thick but i wont fade

i’m trying to catch my breath
but i’m losing control
i’m falling for you
more than you’ll ever know

and i’m running after my heart
its running after you
and i don’t mind playing this game for two
cuz every single day
if you’re near or miles away
i’ll keep chasing, i’ll keep dreaming
i’ll find a way

right now i feel like i’m flying
like a rocketship in space
orbiting the planets
but you’re like a start
that i want to reach
but you’re just too far

i’m trying to catch my breath
but i’m losing control
i’m falling for you
more than you’ll ever know

and i’m running after my heart
its running after you
and i don’t mind playing this game for two
cuz every single day
if you’re near or miles away
i’ll keep chasing, i’ll keep dreaming
i’ll find a way
