FreddieW x MysteryGuitarMan talks YouTube at USC

Freddie Wong talks YouTube at USC

Freddie Wong, Brandon Laatsch, and Joe Penna were on a panel at USC talking about their backgrounds and YouTube experience. They share some great insights on how they got started with Youtube and how they became internet famous. We learned a lot from FreddieW and MysteryGuitarMan on this YouTube panel from getting instant feedback to creating unique videos.

Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatsch comprise FreddieW. The two met at USC on the cinema floor, and started making short videos. After graduation, Brandon and Freddie worked on direct-to-DVD and direct-to-TV feature films, with Freddie producing a feature film “Bear” in 2009. In March of 2010, they both decided to focus on creating content for YouTube and have been doing so full time ever since. Joe Penna is a successful, young director originally from São Paulo, Brazil. Within a few months, his channel, MysteryGuitarMan, rose from obscurity to become the 6th most subscribed of all time. His visionary style and playful content has pushed YouTube videos out of the realm of user-generated content and into the world of independent art.

I’ll Remember You by Chris Cendana

Lyrics to I’ll Remember You by Chris Cendana

When I sip on a coffee from your favorite mug
When I step on a doormat where we used to hug
When I get in the car and I buckle up
I’ll remember you

When I save a little change every couple weeks
When I learn about responsibility
When she says “yes” after being on bended knee
I’ll remember you

I’ll remember you, sunshine or rain
I’ll remember you, laughter or pain
When the sky is dark and all light has turned to grey
I’ll remember you
I’ll remember you

When I take the Volkswagen out on the town
When I take my wife for our ultrasound
When I swing my dear children ’round and ’round
I’ll remember you

When I fix the dining table with your tools
When I see my kids off when they go to school
When they beg for a hero story too
I’ll remember you

I’ll remember you, sunshine or rain
I’ll remember you, laughter or pain
When the sky is dark and all light has turned to grey
I’ll remember you
I’ll remember you

When I try to keep the peace instead of fight
When I pray to God every single night
I know everything I do is right
Cause I remember you

I’ll remember you, sunshine or rain
I’ll remember you, laughter or pain
When the sky is dark and the light has turned to grey
When the sky is dark and the light has turned to grey
I’ll look back on life, and see you in everything
I’ll remember you
I’ll remember you

Arcade Dominator by Freddie Wong

Arcade Dominator by Freddie Wong

This week, Freddie Wong takes a break from his action hero duties to relax. He heads to the arcade and proceeds to dominate everything. Perfect game of Skee Ball? Done. Winning the major prize in Stacker? Easy. Guitar Hero? Child’s play. His arcade skills are amazing. Watch him race two motorcycles simultaneously. He’s even got skills on basketball and air hockey. Freddie Wong walks out of the amusement center with more stuffed animals that you’ll ever win.

He should have played some Time Crisis

Devastating Stereo by Jabbawockeez

Devastating Stereo by Jabbawockeez

Dance and music collide with the music video for Devastating Stereo off the mus.i.c. soundtrack. The Jabbawockeez x The Bangerz showcase their respective talents in dance and music together in the music video. The masked men strut their stuff all over Vegas to the beats of the Bangerz. They go beyond Sleep Wockin video in the Monte Carlo. Adding to the expertise of these two groups is Mike Relm, who directed the piece. This is some seriously sick talent.

Get the song on Devastating Stereo - Jabbawockeez - Mus.I.C (Original Soundtrack) or amazon.
