Rappers Prometheus Brown (aka Geologic of Blue Scholars) x Bambu team up for the music video “Lookin’ Up” off their album “Prometheus Brown and Bambu Walk Into A Bar“. These guys have a sick flow with visuals to match as they rap about their younger days to the present. The song takes the perspective of the masses from the bottom lookin’ up along with interjections from their Filipino culture.

Lyrics to Live Your Life by Yuna

Find your lie, don’t hide from what you are
And rise before you fall,
And hope for something more
Live if you really want to
Live if you really want to
Live if you really want to

All my life, I’ve been looking for something amazing
It’s almost like I’ve been star gazing
The sky is riding above me
Oh, oh, oh
We were meant for something bigger than this
Don’t ever try to dismiss yourself
Cause you don’t have to lose

Find your life, don’t hide from what you are
And rise before you fall
And hope for something more!
Live if we really want to
Live if we really want to

All my life, my dreams just seemed so far away
And now it’s like they’re here to stay
I hold it close to me
Oh, oh, oh
We were meant for something bigger than this
Don’t ever try to dismiss yourself
Cause you don’t have to lose

Find your life, don’t hide from what you are
And rise before you fall
And hope for something more!
Live if we really want to
Live if we really want to
Live if we really want to
Live if we really want to

ESPN interview with Jeremy Lin

ESPN interview with Jeremy Lin

ESPM’s Rachel Nichols chats with Jeremy Lin about his rise to stardom. He and his family has been overwhelmed with publicity hounds. Rumors have been floated around about where he’s living in New York and dating Kim Kardashian. (He squashes all the rumors.) This past year hasn’t been easy for Lin. He struggled through some tough times and hit several low points. Waived twice earlier this year, he contemplated playing in the D-League, playing overseas, or taking a break all together. With his meteoric rise, Lin still deals with issues being an Asian American athlete. His consistency was needed to prove the haters wrong. Even then, people still use terms like “deceptively quick”, “quicker than he looks”, “deceptively athletic”. This season, he’s played differently. Those following him as a Golden State Warrior know he was playing cautiously, not to make mistakes. With the Knicks, he’s given all he can by playing aggressively his way. His new perspective has made all the difference this season.

Jeremy Lin leads Knicks past Mavericks with career high 14 assists

Jeremy Lin led six Knicks in double figures with 28 points and 14 assists (another double double) as New York got back on the winning track with a 104-97 home victory against a hot Dallas team on Sunday afternoon. LINsanity is back!! The Knicks faced the Mavericks, which is the best defensive teams and the defending champions. Jeremy Lin was matched up against Shawn Marion, one of the best defenders in the league. In clutch moments, the Knicks point guard hit big shots as part of an efficient day (11-for-20 from the floor). Not only was he effective on offense, but he also had five steals in his seventh victory as a starter. His effective distribution of the ball gave him a career high 14 assists.

In the post game interview, Lin stated “They’re obviously a great defensive team, a great team altogether. You can’t just win a championship by not being a great defensive team. We came out and we moved the ball and we had a lot of people that contributed tonight. Across the board the efficiency was there from everybody. When you play like that on offense and you have a lot of weapons, something’s going to open up, something’s going to give.”
