Jungle of Ones & Zeros by Bamm Tronics x Kid Heroes

Jungle of Ones & Zeros by Bamm Tronics x Kid Heroes

Kid Heroes Productions/Xylophone Films are known for their work in the Asian American community with music videos including Trick Habit by Rocky Rivera. Love Affair by J-Ricz, Hopie Spitshard’s “Yummy”, Vox Merger’s “American Pie”, Bambu’s “Crooks and Rooks”, and Old Man Raps by Bambu . Now they’re working on music videos outside the community as well. They kick off 2011 with a music video for Jungle of Ones & Zeros by Bamm Tronics. The music video goes through the day dream of an office worker longing for something else besides work. You might find yourself doing some of these things at work.

Kid Heroes Productions/Xylophone Films aren’t the only ones working on projects outside the Asian American community. Last year, Wong Fu Productions worked on music videos including What Does It Take by Dave Days and Cali Cali Cali by Alyssa Bernal. We hope to see more of this broadening trend in 2011.

More about Trin Monsta Trin Monsta (Jason Chun Lee) is a Taiwanese/Japanese rap artist residing from West Hollywood, CA. At a very young age, Trin Monsta began doing shows with group “Slanted Visions,” and released an independent album called “Mood Swings.” soon after the independent success of the album, the group disbanded and Trin continued on as a solo artist. At the young age of 17, Trin was co-signed by Far-East Movement to a deal with record label CATCH MUSIC GROUP, home to popular artists Far-East Movement (FM), Jin tha MC, and Monroe Street Band. While on the label CMG, Trin worked, recorded, and performed with Far-East Movement (FM) and made an appearance on FM’s track “It’s Time,” which appeared on FM’s first release the “Audiobio.” Trin also opened shows for Chinese-American artist Jin tha MC while signed to the label. He has also just released his first music video for the mixtape single “My Pad.” He is currently in the studio recording his EP scheduled to be released April 2011.

Outside with Jordan : First 5 CA PSA

Outside with Jordan : First 5 CA PSA

Out in the Golden State, First 5 California released an ad campaign called “Outside with Jordan.” (Jordan reminds us a little of Russell from Up aka Jordan Nagai. BTW – This isn’t the same Jordan.) The PSA tells kids to get out of the house and play outdoors. Kids need the exercise to grow and be healthy. Encourage children to play outside. He or she can play tag, ride a tricycle or play baseball. Plan a trip to the local park or playground. Walk the dog, work in the garden, wash the car or just take a walk. These activities help your child burn calories. Getting children into the habit of being physically active early on is important.

It’s great to see an Asian American kids front and center on this PSA.

(Thanks to Willy H. for the tip)

Mike-Dash-E puts his own freestyle verses over Lil Wayne’s “6 foot 7 foot.” The video has him hitting the mic, playing old school video games, and getting buzzed as he spit rhymes about himself. Look out for his new album dropping soon.
