3rd Annual DIY Music Video Contest

LOCUS@KSW and San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival teamed up Asian American filmmakers and musicians, challenging them to make a music video in a matter of two months with little to no budget. The DIY Music Video teams are competing for a spot in the 2010 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. Your vote by view will determine which video makes to the film festival! The two-week long voting/viewing period begins online now.

Lots of interesting videos from this year’s crop. We’re impressed with a lot of these videos. Considering the budget is low to none, they got high production value. Check the stop motion animation of Bulldozer. Music videos with story lines in So Lost and Friction. Hip hop is not left our with Hopie Spitshard (also check her Yummy music video) and Mandeep Sethi. Peep these videos and more. Remember to vote.

Digital Graffiti by Chairman Ting

If you’re at the 2010 Winter Olympics, check out Chairman Ting’s digital graffiti art performances at the Salt Building inside the Athlete’s Village. They were commissioned by The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) using Tangible Interaction’s unique digital graffiti wall technology.

Wow, combining technology with urban art. Do you prefer digital art or the street art like David Choe?

Nothing On You by JR Aquino x Traphik Remix

Here’s a remix for Nothing On You by JR Aquino x Traphik. The audio quality is kinda bad with the waves on the beach crashing in the background. Look forward to more music from these guys.

Traphik has been on a tear with collabos with major Asian American artists like dumbfoundead and Jin. He’s already done a bunch of collabo remixes including including Say Ahh – Asian American Remix, Traphik x Sahtyre Freestyle, Forever Remix, I Rock Onesies, Bedrock – Asian American Remix, and Get Up. Keep your eyes on him for 2010.

JR Aquino (JRA) dropped his album Exposure a few weeks ago. Be sure to pick up the album which includes songs like I Luv Myself and Closure. Also look for him in an upcoming AJ Rafael music video shot by Wong Fu Productions.

Tiger Woods Apology

Tiger Woods issued a brief apology about his affairs and did not take any questions from journalists. He says he’s ‘deeply sorry’ for irresponsible and selfish behavior. For the most part, Tiger Woods just read prewritten apology.

He clarifies what happened on the Thanksgiving Day car accident and verbally admits to his affairs. He’s still trying to keep his life private, but looks like the paparazzi will still be hounding him and his family. As for his return to golf, he’s not sure when he’ll hit the greens again.
